Another Old Simpson Citizen Has Passed
MAGEE, Oct. 9. - Another of Simpson county's aged and beloved citizens passed to her reward in the going of Mrs. Rebecca Cockreil, whose useful life came to an end after a prolonged Illness, which was born with Christian fortitude and patience.
Mrs. Cockreil, who was a daughter of the late pioneer citizen, Abner Williamson, has been making her home with her daughter. Miss Bell Cockrill (sic Crockrell) of near Magee. She was 86 year sof (sic years of) age and lived her entire life within the boundaries ot Simpson county. She was a consistent , Christian, uniting with the Baptist church at a tender age, and constantly adhering, to. its teachings. Her ministrations to the poor and needy, the sick and afflicted were, a part of her daily living, and she gained consoltloan in deeds of kindness nd charity to her neighbors, friends and loved ones. Her life was truly a benediction to her children, community, county and state, and her going is mourned throughout this section.
She is survived by Mrs. L. B. Lofin of Wesson, Mrs. J, Brown of Magee, Hyram Cockreil, Tom Cockreil, Mrs. C. P. Chandler, Miss Bell Cockreil, Mrs. A. A. Brown, Mr Mac Cockreil. Hendenhall Rt.J Mr. Bob Cockreil, Weatherfty; -two brothers, W. : Williams, of Mendenhall Rt., Bob Williams, Prentiss; two sisters. Miss Melisse Williamson, near Prentiss, and Mrs. Kate Yate, of Collins Rt.
She was buried at the oId John Reed cemetery, with Rev. J. B. Holifield officiating. Funeral arrangements were In charge of Williams undertaking department.
