Mr. Vaughn died Monday, October 17, 2005. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Zeb and Tallula Sullivan Vaughn. He served his country in both the Navy and Marines in WWII. Mr. Vaughn attended First Baptist Church of West Columbia and had retired from Servisco of Columbia.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Mayward Vaughn of Cayce; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Bo Stokes of Georgetown, Joanie and Jimmy Ward of Gilbert and Gina and Neil Kyzer of Lexington; sisters, Iva Lee Quinton and Daisy Dubose, both of Columbia; brother, O.J. Vaughn of West Columbia; eight grandchildren, Tobi and Kris Merschat, Tommy and Amanda Owens, Troy and Heather Goodwin, Tony and Stephanie Goodwin, Tonya Haywood, Sugar and C.J. Jeffcoat, Jason Kyzer and Teri and Chris Mosley; seven great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Willow, Riley, Henry, Cole, Jonah and Spencer. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by a son, Mark Vaughn, one brother and five sisters.
