Funeral services for Charles Avon Chandler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Bentley with Reverend Jim Garlington officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bentley under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Pineville Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Chandler, 80, of Bentley, passed from this life on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home.

Mr. Chandler was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Bentley. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Chandler was a member of a hunting club in Grant Parish for many years. He was an expert saw hand in the logging industry and a carpenter by trade working with his brothers. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren where the love of his life and he will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joy Olene Chandler; parents, Lonnie Arby and Margie Smith Chandler; brothers, Rubin Chandler, Russell Chandler, Wilburn Chandler and PFC Lonnie Bearon Chandler; sisters, Lena Hatfield, Clara Mitchell and Billie Jo Williamson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Clara Oline Youngblood and husband, Terry, Jeannie Diane Morrison and husband, Richard and Angela Frances Causey and husband, Marlon; brother, Arby Gene Chandler; sister, Alene Brevelle; grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary Youngblood, Jeffrey and Abigail Brown, Anne Causey, Bethany Causey, Samantha Jones and husband, Sean, Jennifer Boren and husband, Kindall, Paula Lord and husband, Dwayne and Alison Churchman and husband, Anthony; great grandchildren, Dalton, Aubrey and Kylie Jones, Kinslee and Jace Boren, Bailey and Jackson Lord, Madelyn Bermudez, Colton Hulin, Peyton Churchman and Noah Causey.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jacob Youngblood, Jeffrey Brown, Dalton Jones, Sean Jones, Kindall Boren and Anthony Churchman.
