Franklin Kelly Pierce Sr. age 90, of Paducah, passed away peacefully at 10:10pm Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family.
He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, a member of the Boilermaker's Union #40, he retired from Shawnee Steam Plant, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge #449 for over 50 years and was a World War II veteran serving in the European and Pacific theater earning 2 bronze stars while serving in the US Army.
He is survived by two sons, Franklin K. Pierce Jr. of Smithland and Robert (Paula) W. Pierce of Paducah; two daughters, Betty (Mike) Jones of Paducah and Regina (John) Pearson of Paducah; eight grandchildren, Jon Pierce, Doyan Pierce, Todd Hiett, Jennifer Partin, Jarod Pierce, Sarah VanMeter, Kellie Rodgers and Kim Strickland; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 62 years, Mary Jane Lowery Pierce; his parents, Robert & Vivian Kelly Pierce; two daughters, Onetia Jacobs and Mary Ann Pierce; one brother, William Ellis Pierce and one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Burial and Military Rites will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
