Children b. North Hero, VT:
Safford Gerry Hazen b. 6 May 1822
Harrison Hazen b. 1 Aug 1824
Sumner Ladd Hazen b. 8 Dec 1826
Annis (Hazen) Lockwood b. 23 Apr 1829
Celinda (Hazen) Hutchins b. 24 Dec 1831
Lucena (Hazen) Cota-Shaw b. Apr 1835
Susan (Hazen) Perry b. 30 May 1840
Mahala (Hazen) Hazen b. 16 Mar 1842/1843
child Hazen b. abt 1843
Lovina Hazen b. 12 May 1846

Note: Mahala's death cert states her father's name to be Safford, but Safford m. 1843; he was a bit on the young side to have married before that. There were two other children born after Mahala, and the book does designate her to Hardy and Abigail. Her records are going between being b. Vermont and being b. New York. I'm not too sure of Henry Hardy and Hardy Henry being twins, there seems to be a child lost in 1847 and buried in New York, so Hardy and Abigail were at New York in 1847, of course being that the stone was good enough to read that death year correctly. I think there stands a chance that there was a Henry Hardy Jr d. 1841 Vermont, and this child was Henry Hardy Jr the 2nd called by his middle name because the other little guy lost was called Henry with his father being called Hardy. Make sense?

This is tough. Abigail had two children in the 1830's, showing that she was slowing down as she got older, which is natural. But then she started having more children closer in age a decade later? With Mahala's death rec stating her father was Safford. I don't know what to think other than to follow the book.
