IN REMEMBRANCE: WERNER SUNDERMAN

Werner Sunderman, 78, a resident of 301 2nd in Griswold, passed away Sunday morning at the Jennie Edmundson in Council Bluffs.

The son of Charles and Ida Kaiser Sunderman, he was born February 20, 1901 in Noble Township and lived in Cass and Pottawattamie counties all his life. He attended the rural Cass County schools and was married to Marie Schaaf on February 14, 1923 in Atlantic. Mr. Sunderman was a heavy equipment operator in Pottawattamie County for 20 years, retiring in 1963.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Pickinpaugh of Carson, Mrs. Ivan (Maxine) (Tye) Houser of Massena, Mrs. Lawrence (Betty) Riepe of Griswold and Mrs. Dean (Agnes) Osen of Guthrie Center; one son, Werner Sunderman, Jr., of Griswold; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ray of Cedar Rapids, and Hubert of Port Huron, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1974; one daughter, Frances; two sons, Vernon and Bobbie; three brothers, Joe, Ralph and Sam.
