Ernest Dawley, 82, died January 2, 1956 at the Cheney Nursing Home, Sandy Creek, where he had been a patient for some time.
He was born in Parish September 20, 1873, the son of Alonzo and Sarah Dawley. His wife was the former Phoebe Haight. Mr. Dawley was a farmer in Mexico and vicinity for many years. Two sons, Pearl Dawley of Pulaski and Irving Dawley of Parish survive.
The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon at the Gibbs funeral home in Mexico, the Rev. Robert Pennock, pastor of Mexico Methodist church, officiating. Burial in Mexico village cemetery
