Rev Thomas Dixon was the father of Thomas Dixon, Jr the famous author and playwright (wrote The Clansman and others).

He was also the father of Rev Amazi Clarence Dixon (another famous preacher) and Frank Dixon.

His mother was Susanna Hambright Dixon (buried in Antioch) whose father was Col. Frederick Hambright who fought in the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Kings Mountain.

His father, Thomas Dixon, was a local Baptist minister serving 32 churches within the county during his tenure in the ministry.
