Bill and Jane were the parents of 8 children: 7 daughters-Samantha, Venie, Tippy, Lura, Roxie, Rhoda, and Carolina; and 1 son, William Harrison Elledge.
In 1912, their daughter Roxie Elledge Bullis became a widow at the age of 25. She moved with her 3 young children into Bill & Jane Elledge's home.
Jane live to the age of 85. She died from a cerebral hemorrhage in 1940 and was buried in the family cemetery. Her obituary appeared in the Greensboro Daily News:

--Last rites will be held Thursday for Mrs. Mary J. Elledge, 85, wife of W. B. Elledge, well-known resident of Newcastle township. She died yesterday. Surviving are her husband, seven children: W. H. Elledge, Cycle; Mrs. Uriah Hayes, North Wilkesboro; Mrs. J. C. Hincher, Abingdon, Va; Mrs. Vickery Rhoades, North Wilkesboro; Miss Lura Elledge, Cycle; Mrs. Lewis Bullis, North Wilkesboro; Mrs. Rossie Brown, Hays, and one brother, Lewis Elledge. Services to be conducted by Rev. Ed Hayes, assisted by Rev. J. M. Dillard, will be held at the family cemetery near the home. Hour had not been set today.
