Funeral Services Held
For W.T. Hays, Sr.
Services were held for Mr. William Taylor "Buddy" Hays, Sr., 88, of Homer, at 2 p.m. Thursday January 31 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Homer. Dr. Glenn D. Simmons officiated, and Rev. Walter C. Easton assisted. Burial was at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Bienville, La.
Mr. Hays, a retired farmer, died Wednesday morning January 30, 1985, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Homer and the Bryceland Masonic Lodge. Mr. Hays was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Hays was preceded in death by his parents, John Clayton Hays, Sr. and Mary Ann Loe hays, and three brothers, Elza Ray Hays, Sr., Travis N. Hays and Theo Hays. He is survived by his wife, Mary Gladney Hays, Jr. and James K. hays, of Homer; three daughters, Patricia Hays Bryan of Birmingham, Ala., Jeanne Hays Atkins of Shreveport, La., Frances Hays Bays of Homer; six sisters, Eva Hays Fisher, Leola Hays Miller, Avis Hays Neal, of Shreveport, Inez Hays Black of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth hays Tibbets of Marshall, Texas, Helen Hays Breckenridge of Ruston, La.; four brothers, John Clayton Hays, Jr., Charley G. Hays, Berkey T. Hays, of Ruston, Carey Nelson Hays of Baton Rouge, La.; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
