She was born March 19, 1927 in Lavaca County to Joe and Annie Machacek Korenek.
She was a Catholic. She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society in Point Comfort and taught religion class there. Later, she was a clerk at the Bottom Dollar store in Port Lavaca. Thru all the years, she was a loving mother and housewife. In her later years, while living at Stevens Nursing Home, she enjoyed playing dominoes.
Survivors: daughter-in-law, Elaine Kubena of Yoakum; son-in-law, Ted Simpson of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Melissa Jones (James) of Cedar Park, Kathleen Nors (Kevin) of Abbott and Roxanne Simpson of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Kenedy Schimcek, Nathan Nors and Kaitlyn Nors.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Eugene L. Kubena; daughter, Kathleen Simpson; son, Eugene A. Kubena; granddaughter, Laura Kubena.
Burial at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
