Sgt. Justin R. Helton, 25, of Beaver, Ohio; died June 9, in Gaza Village, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered while engaged in a combat operation. He was assigned to the 18th Ordnance Company, 192nd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Sgt Helton, 25 of Germany Road, Beaver, Ohio, died Monday 9 June 2014 while serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. He was born 10 August 1988 in Chillicothe, Ohio the son of Wendell Helton and Sandra Lee (Willett) Helton. Also surviving are fiancée, Lauren Kelley of Waverly, Ohio, Sister, Michelle Marie Veach of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, two Brothers, Nathan Shane Helton and Jacob Andrew Helton both of Beaver, Ohio, Maternal Grandparents, Nancy Tackett and husband William of Piketon, Ohio, Niece, Madison Veach and Nephew, Tanner Veach. Sgt Helton was a member of 192nd Ordnance Battalion, 18th Ordnance Company out of Ft Bragg, North Carolina, Active Duty Army and a 2006 Graduate of Eastern High School. His Maternal Grandfather, Eugene Willett and Paternal Grandparents Joe and Roxie Helton preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, 23 June 2014 at the Eastern High School with Chaplain, Kevin Greene, Officiating. Burial will follow in Germany Cemetery, Beaver, Ohio. Friends may call at the Eastern High School 3 – 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
