Funeral services for Charley Griffin, 60, were held at White Oak Pond church Friday morning, June 12, with the Rev. Wid McClanahan officiating. Burial was in the cemetery there.
Charley Austin Griffin, who was born June 23, 1876, died June 11 at his home near Russ as a result of a paralytic stroke.
He was united in marriage to Florida Melton who preceded him in death. To this union one son and one daughter were born. He later was married to Julia Green and to this union five sons and four daughters were born. His wife and all the children survive.
The children are Mrs. Bessie Hoskins and Mrs. Pearl Rogers of California, Mo.; Anderson, Irvin, Jessie, Marie, Billie, Henry and Mrs. Lora Waugh, all of Orla; Russel of Minneapolis, Kan.; and Ulysses, address unknown. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and one brother, John Griffin, of near Lebanon.
Six members, acting as pallbearers, were George, Alpha, Homer, Elmer, Fred and Vester Griffin. Flower girls were Hazel and Glennis Edwards, Leone and Rozella Rubles.
