Funeral Services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Church of Christ, Bemidji, MN with Steve Williams officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday October 18, 2012 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji, MN.
Charles Edward Chandler was born August 30, 1931 in Grand Forks, ND to Clark and Hattie (McMahon) Chandler. He attended school in Grand Forks, ND until the age of 8 years old when the family moved to Bemidji, MN. On December 31, 1950 he married Arleigh Tillotson in Bemidji. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After he returned to Bemidji from the war, he worked for R.E.A. (Beltrami Electric) as a lineman and then as line superintendant until his retirement. He attended Church of Christ Church where he served as a trustee. He enjoyed flying airplanes, and had a commercial license. Ed enjoyed hunting, cars, fishing and cars.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Kevin) Olson of Park Rapids, MN and son, Bill (Max) Chandler of Bemidji, MN; 9 grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren. 2 sisters, Mary Jo Hovet of Portland, OR and Alice (Al) Schierman of Mesa, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arleigh Chandler; 5 brothers, George, Raymond, Delbert, Wesley and Howard; 2 sisters, Dorothy and Leota.
