Mario Muñoz, 65, of Porter Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 North Canal Street.
A Prayer Service is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2014, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2014, 10:00 AM, at River of Life with Pastor Ramon V. Florez officiating.
Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Mario Muñoz was born October 26, 1948 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Danny and Eliza (Hensley) Muñoz. He was a life long Carlsbad resident. Mario married Mary Salcido in 1967 in Carlsbad. He was a member of River of Life. Mario enjoyed playing bingo and fishing. He loved to garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Roseanne Acosta and brother, Michael Muñoz.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Muñoz of Carlsbad, NM; three sons: Mario Muñoz, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM Mark Muñoz and Candace of Carlsbad, NM, Matthew Muñoz of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren: Daniel Muñoz, Gabriel Muñoz, Mario Muñoz, III, Alysha Muñoz; one great-grandchild, Daniel Muñoz, Jr.; sister, Patricia Muñoz of Carlsbad, NM and one brother, Sammy Muñoz and wife, Mary of Carlsbad, NM.
Pallbearers will be Frank Leyva, Frankie Hensley, Manuel Cerna, Daniel F. Munoz, Robert Dominguez, Jr. and Jerry Carrasco. Honorary pallbearers are Louie Methola, Gabriel Muñoz, Jimmy Hensley and Mario Muñoz, III.
