Ron was a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force, retiring in 1993 with 32 years of service. His occupation was medical administrator with the 940th Clinic at Mather AFB, California, and with the 349th Medical Group – 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis AFB, California.
He also retired from civil service at Travis AFB in 1997 with 33 years of service. He resided in Rio Vista, California, for the past nine years, enjoying fishing, boating, being home with his beloved dog, Chief, and his wife, Cat, and visiting his friends at Lucy's Café where he and his wife were best known as "Cat and Dog." Ron was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Fairfield, California, #4113, and the Moose Lodge in Rio Vista #1846.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cathy; daughters, Michelle (Rich) Wernig of St. Louis and Jeanne (Tim) Cowden of Dix, Ill.; son, Ronald (Jody) Goff of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; grandchildren, Tyler (Kari Watson) Goff, Ronnie Goff, David Groves, Georgia Goff, Jacob Cowden, Brittany Goff; great-granddaughter, Cecilia Goff; sister-in-law, Glenn Goff of Reno; and sister, Sharon Green, of Fernley, Nev.
His brother, Bill (Glenn) Goff of Reno, Nev., joined him in heaven on March 24, 2013.
Military services will be held at 2 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. Friends are invited to join the family at Lucy's Café on Main Street in Rio Vista after the service.
