McPherson received on certificate by White Water MM, Wayne Co, IN, but that appears to be the only record of John in the Quaker records in Indiana; possibly the John McPherson age 43, farmer, born Ohio, in Harrison Twp, Blackford Co, IN, in the 1880 census; possibly the John McPherson age "66," born "Oct 1833," born OH, in Harrison Twp, Blackford Co, IN, in the 1900 census; possibly the John W. McPherson, widowed, age 76, born OH, living in Jackson Twp, Wells Co, IN, in 1910 in household headed by son Charles McPherson; Charles was age 47, born Indiana, indicating birth in Indiana about 1863, which fits if John and wife Margaret came from OH to IN bef 1860 census; but there is still a problem between the dates of birth of about 1833/1834 and the date of birth of abt 1837 of "our" John W. who was age 13 in the 1850 census]
