Laura's parents were the late Walter Cleve and Alberta Blanche (Riley) Courtney. She grew up in west Texas in the Loraine area. She worked as a cook in various restaurants. Laura and her husband moved to Davis in the late 1970s to care for her parents. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing, and, most importantly, caring for her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Duvall and husband Jack, Grand Prairie, Texas; and Katy Morgan and husband Leon, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Courtney and wife Martha of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Velta Courtney of Roff, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Virgil, daughter Marsha, and three brothers Jim, Wayne, and Kenneth Courtney.
