Marcia J. DeHoet, 89, of Stuart passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Stuart Community Care Center.

Marcia was born on December 6, 1924 to Dwight Wesley and Ida Matilda (Buchannan) Cox in Dallas County, Iowa. She grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School with the class of 1942. Following graduation she was employed at the Dexter Hospital moving her way up to Administrator. On May 27, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert DeHoet in Omaha. She moved to Sioux City where they made their home for 30 years. She served as an office manager at Sioux City Stationary. In 2012, she moved back to Stuart to be closer to family.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and baking; she was known for her apple pies. She played in a golf league in the summers and participated in a bowling league in the winters. She enjoyed reading until her later years.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband: Robert DeHoet; parents: Dwight and Ida Cox; brothers: Bob Cox and Cal Cox and sister: Virginia Mangles.

She leaves behind her daughter: Jean (Laree) Feller of Redfield; grandchildren: Marc Feller of Redfield and Stacey Feller of West Des Moines; great-grandchildren: Cody, Abby and Madison; brother: Keith (Connie) Cox of Arizona; sister: Connie Sloan of Ames; sister-in-law: Carole Cox of Oregon; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
