They were the owners of a sizeable plantation at Dillon's Ridge and this land, although divided by their children five years after Sarah's death , stayed in the family for many years. For this reason, the family cemetery at Dillon's Ridge contains more than 20 graves mostly Dillons and Suttons, and was active cemetery from 1844 until at least 1939. Unfortunately, the cemetery was ploughed over in the mid part of the 20th century and few marked grave stones exist.

In memory of Alexander Dillon. Born 7th of July 1719.. Died 23 Sept'r 1844, Aged 55 years, 2 months, 16 days.
