Marilyn N. "Mitzi" Osborne, 84, of Wenatchee, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Central Washington Hospital. She was born to O. V. and Bernice Haegg in 1925, in Rockford, IL. She attended schools there and then, went to DePaul University in Green Castle, IN, where she was an Alphi Phi. She married John E. Nelson III in 1946. They lived in Rockford until moving to Elk Mound, WI in 1963. The family then moved to Wenatchee, in 1967. She worked as a secretary at Columbia Concrete Pipe Co. until 1973. Mitzi married Jere T. Osborne in 1979, and was co-owner with him of Spraymaster Pest Control. She was a founding member of Spring Creek Congregational Church in Rockford and a choir member. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee. Jere and Mitzi loved to travel to the Oregon Coast and to Florida with her surviving sister, Helen Tucker of Rockford, for many years. She loved gardening and her crosswords, which she did everyday. She and Jere were members of the Audobon Society and the Wenatchee Symphony.

Mitzi left many who loved her deeply, her daughters, Lori Scott and Sara Bauman, both of Wenatchee, Anne Fry of Thompson Falls, MT and Beth Yager of Waterville, and one son, John E. Nelson of Sumner, WA. She was always there for them and her grandchildren, Keven, Amanda, Wendy, Duston, Jeremy, John, Jenny, Jason, Jessica, Hannah and Taylor. She also was blessed with nine great-grandchildren; three step-children with Jere who meant a great deal, Anne, Dan and Pat. She made all of us appreciate the love of animals, the beauty of nature and the joy and laughter we had as a family. Mom, grandma and great-grandma, we will miss you often and find you in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life for Mitzi Osborne will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Chapel.
