O. Vincent Haegg, 73, secretary of Greenlee Brothers and company before his retirement about three years ago, died Sunday in his home.
He was born in Rockford on Oct. 29, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto W. Haegg, peonies settlers. Mr. Haegg began his employment at Greenlee's on Oct. 9, 1902 in Chicago, a year before the company moved to Rockford.
In addition to being secretary of the company, Mr. Haegg had been sales manager of the woodworking machinery department. He has served as president of Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery for several years.
He was a member of Elks, Tebala Shrine, Masonic Lodge No. 166, Freeport consistory, honorary life member of Jesters, and a charter member of Forest Hills Country club.
Mr. Haegg married the former Bernice B. Vain here on April 18, 1923
Besides his widow, Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Nelson; Mrs. Crawford Tucker; both of Rockford; three sisters, Mrs. Lilie Lavis and Mrs. Helen Needham, both of Ronan, Mont.; Mrs. Florence Johnson, Missoula, Mont.; and brother, Harold Haegg, Ronan, Mont. A brother, Vernon L. and half-brother, O.J. Wigell, died previously.
