Clara Orr Rogers, 89, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2014 at her residence. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Bart and Bessie Trull Orr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Rogers; her son, David Rogers; her brothers, Swinfield, Riley, S.T., Clifford, Ed, Jackson, and Vincent Orr; and her sisters, Ellen Crisp, Azalee Slaughter, and Edna Orr. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Seay of Robbinsville, NC; and her sons, Bobby Rogers of Beaver Dam, KY, Tommy Rogers of Centre, AL, Mark Rogers of Atlanta, GA, Roy Rogers, Cecil Rogers, Jerry Rogers, and Ronnie Rogers, all of Robbinsville, NC. She has 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Townson-Smith Funeral Home. The Reverend Luther Crisp will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at the Chapel, prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 2, 2014 at Old Mother Cemetery with Reverend Noah Crowe officiating. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
