Thomas L. Best, 82, of Eskridge, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Watson in Vancouver, Wash., where he was visiting.
Mr. Best was born April 13, 1874, in Pennsylvania and had lived in Wabaunsee and Shawnee counties since he was a boy. He operated a grocery store at Dover at onetime, but most of his life was spent on the farm. He moved to Eskridge about 12 years ago.
He is survived by six sons, Willis Best of Kansas City, Kan., Charles, Herman, Eugene, and Russell Best, all of Oregon, and Clayton Best of Eskridge; two daughters, Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Lois Sauer, both of Vancouver, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John Best of Florida, and George Best of Topeka; and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Caldwell and Mrs. Edna Livingston, both of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Sage of Maple Hill. Mr. Best will be returned to Eskridge for burial;
