In 1900 her parents, Katherine & James G. Patterson, moved their family to Scurry County from Ellis County.She had attended Midlothian Junior College. She was a dedicated member of the First Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many,many years. She was instrumental in getting the first Boy Scout Troop established in 1910 in Snyder. She also formed the first Business and Professional Women's Club in Snyder along with several other organizations.Nancy believed in club work stating it was good for intellect and community training.She left a big mark on Snyder, Texas upon her passing and was well thought of by several generations. Her death certificate states she was a retired teacher.
