McKenzie K Arnn was the son of George W "Boss" Arnn and his 2nd wife Charlotte Lewry. When McKenzie was 3 years old his mother died most likely either shortly after the birh of his brother Warren Docton "Dock" Arnn in 1854 or complications from a later pregnancy. His father now twice widowed married Louiza V Lankford in 1857. Louiza raised McKenzie and his brother as well as had 4 biological children. McKenzie's mother Charlotte had raised the 3 children of George's first wife, Frances Phelps after her death. McKenzie left Tennesee and returned to South Carolina writing his Par and Mar encouraging them to migrate to South Carolina area (George had migrated from VA). Letters in my possession from Leaksville, SC and from Virgina discuss his first marriage to Jinaire Leonard and their first son. He may have married three times, but it is the endearing letter about his "jumping the broom" with Jennie that is the most prominent. I am creating this memorial related to the previous link to VA findagrave which is no longer available.
I am a direct descendant of George and Lou Virgina. Contact me through this site for furter information.
