James Harold Goodnight, 57, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial in Jessamine Cemetery.
Mr. Goodnight was a native of Helena, Ark. and a resident of Jackson. He was employed with the Bureau of Land Management for 16 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Paulette Goodnight of Jackson; sons, Ralph Sykes of Tupelo, Kevin Sykes of Crystal Springs, Terry Goodnight of Center, Texas, Michael Goodnight of Arlington, Texas, and Joshua Goodnight of Pineville, La.; three sisters, Katie Andrews of Helena, Ark., Dorothy Nelson of Lexa, Ark. and Pat Smith of Florence; brother, David Goodnight of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
