Mrs. Cora Barnell, resident of Bemidji since 1908, died at the Lutheran hospital Saturday after an illness of about three years.

Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Smatla officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery under the direction of the Olson Funeral home.

Cora Congdon was born in Big Stone County, Minn., in 1880. As a young girl she moved to Eagle Bend and in 1902 was married to Pearl Barnell. They moved to Bemidji in 1908 where she had resided since. Mr. Barnell died in 1946.

Mrs. Barnell was a past president of the Degree of Honor Lodge, Bemidji Chapter.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Roy Golden (Dolores) of Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. W. C. Batchelder (Blanche) and Mrs. Bernie Howell (Gladys) of Bemidji and Mrs. Lois Lang of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, two brothers, Clarence, Pueblo, Colo; Cecil of Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Martin Tongsager, of Long Prairie.
