EAST LIVERPOOL - Rev. Clarence Pelley went to his mansion in Heaven on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, after a brief six-week decline just 42 days before his 100th birthday.
He was born on July 15, 1914, in Wellsville, the youngest of 13 children of immigrant parents, Albert and Sara Pelley. Clarence was married to Maxine Logan for 68 years. She preceded him in death in 2002.
He was a United Brethren minister at churches in Steubenville, Youngstown, Walbridge and East Liverpool, including being a pastor of Mainstreet Church in Walbridge from 1950-55.
He was a very active and lifelong member of Portage Holiness Camp in Portage, Ohio, and a member of LaCroft Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Rev. Robert; daughter-in-law, Dawn; and grandchildren Jonell, Joleen and Billy.
A celebration of life will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, Ohio, on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. as visitation will continue from 5-9 p.m.
Additional visitation will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park in East Liverpool, on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church of the donor's choice.
