Melba Ames Lindsay Melba Ames Lindsay 82, born June 15, 1926 in Elba, Idaho passed away suddenly Feb. 14, 2009. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to golf and play pinochle with her senior groups and she was always willing to try anything once. She was very active right up until her death. She had just shot her best game of golf ever with her grandson, Roger. She is survived by a sister & brother-in-law Beth & Art Ward of Elba ID; 2 daughters Janice Briggs Knepper of Sparks NV and Sandra Mikulas of Yuba City. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Allison Meinking of Costa Mesa CA, Amy Meinking of Long Beach CA, Matthew Mikulas of Yuba City, Roger Long & wife Helen of Woodland CA, Tammey Carpitcher & husband Kevin of Boseman MT, Jennifer Pierre & husband Joe of Petaluma CA, and Brian Ames of San Diego CA. She had 3 great grandchildren Amy & Ali Weaver of Woodland CA and Mira Pierre of Petaluma CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Lindsay, her son Michael C. Ames and son-in-law Mike Mikulas. She will always be loved and missed by many including her constant companion and loving dog Caddie. Graveside services will be held at Sutter Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 20th at 1:00pm
