Services for Dewey V. nelson, 92, of 212 E. 6th St., Milan, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Rock Island, where he was a member.
Mr. Nelson died Sunday at Moline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born June 20, 1898, in Waterford Township, Ill. He married Lottie Clark Feb. 22, 1923, in Rock Island.
He retired as a baker at Crescent Co., Davenport. After that he was chief of police at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1962 after 23 years.
He was a charter and 67-year member of Rock Island Moose Lodge 190; a 15-year member of Friends Circle club; Men's Club secretary; and a church usher.
He was a World War I Army veteran.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Darlene Coutteau, Marysville, Kan.; three grandsons; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
