LUCASVILLE - RONALD DANE COPAS, 74, of Lucasville, died Friday, May 31, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
He was born May 9, 1940 in McDermott, a son of the late Donald "Jim" and Sarah Ellen Crabtree Copas.
Ron was a retired truck driver for R&L Carriers.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Deemer Copas, whom he married April 24, 2004 in McDermott; four sons, Donald (Angie) Copas of Lucasville, Marty (Brady) Copas of Ashland, Joey (Jennifer) Copas of Lucasville, and Chris (Tena) Copas of McDermott; two daughters, Regina (Bobby) Stishoch of Columbus, and Kathy (Thom) Davis of Franklin Furnace; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother Bob Copas of Lucasville; and one sister, Lois Love of Columbus.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Prater Copas, September 29, 2002; and two brothers, Carl and Virgil Copas.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2014 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Josh Deemer officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before the funeral Thursday.
