Thomas Ramsey was born in May 1803 to Woodson Ramsey and Sarah Witcher. He first married Frances Judy Mullins, daughter of Bowker/Booker Mullins, on 6 Nov 1826 (marriage bond, Franklin County, VA, Wingfield). Judy passed away around 1831, leaving Thomas with three small children: America (married Andrew Young), Joseph (married Harriett Stanley), and Frances Ann (married William McGhee).
On 13 Jan 1833 (marriage bond, Henry County, VA), Thomas married Winifred Davis. To that union came nine children: Cynthia, Nancy Hurd Davis, Matilda, William, Letitia, Aley Ann, Charles, Susan E., and James Peter.
Thomas died 27 Feb 1851; Winifred died prior to the 1860 census.
