Mildred was the second child and only daughter of Joseph and Ellen Louisa Hey Hoyle. Mildred married her childhood sweetheart, Philip Leslie Voelker. They are both alums of Brown University. Mildred is a Past Grand Matron OES. Mildred and Phil had four living children, several miscarriages. Mildred raised her family next door to the home in which she was born and raised. Their children: Ellen Louisa Voelker Bailey, Donald Chase Voelker, Jean Emmons Voelker Morrison, Peter Hoyle Voelker.
