Adolph Knoll, 87, of Lodi died Sept. 12 at his home. He was born in Victor on Dec. 2, 1909.
Mr. Knoll was a well-known vineyardist for 55 years before his retirement.
He was a long-tine member and past president of Consistory at Zion Reformed Church, past director of the Wine Growers Guild, and past president of the Lockeford Winery Board of Directors.
Mr. Knoll was one of the original organizers of the Mokelumne Fire District, where he served as president and chairman for 29 years.
He was also a member of the American Legion, Lodi Post No. 22 for 54 years, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed deep-sea fishing at Crescent City.
Mr. Knoll was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Knoll in 1969; a daughter, Marie Adele Knoll in 1966; six brothers, Jacob Jr., George, August, Elbert, Ernie and Robert Knoll; and five sisters, Katie Lippert, Christina Goehring, Philbina Knoll, Martha Knoll and Ida Batch.
Mr. Knoll is survived by his wife of 27 years, Adriana Knoll of Lodi; a daughter; a step-son; three sisters, Emma Grenz, Bertha Kammerer and Mary Schultz; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Interment in Lodi Memorial Cemetery
