"Eliza Kunz Rigby
Logan-Mrs. Eliza Kunz Rigby, 74, died at her home, 364 N. 5th East, Logan, Wednesday morning of a heart ailment. She was born March 1, 1876, in Bern, Ida., a daughter of Christian and Eliza Buehler Kunz. She was married to John Thomas Rigby, Oct. 10, 1894 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died June 1, 1940. The couple pioneered in the Gray's Lake, Ida., region. where they helped organize a branch of the LDS church. They moved to Bern, Ida., where Mr. Rigby taught school, living there 30 years. She became the mother of 12 children two of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include the following sons and daughters: John R. Rigby, Truman W. Rigby. Mrs. Perl Davis, Monpelier, Ida.; Mrs. May Peterson, Mrs. Fonda Pulley, and Irene Rigby, Logan; Mrs. Della Hoppes, Fairview, Wyo.; Mrs. Ruth Carlton, Ogden; Mrs. Alphia Wood, Kemerer, Wyo.; and Mrs. Alton Ashby, Delta. Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Mrs. Nellie Dredge, Malad, Ida.; Mrs. Lydia A. Barlow, Logan; Mrs. Ida Boss, Garland; Mrs. Zina Fult, Clearfield; Mrs. Charlotte Harris, Ogden; Mrs. Adeline Countryman, Palo Alto, Cal.; Mrs. Maggie Mittlestedt, Emmett, Ida.; Alma Kunz, Smith A. Kunz, and Anthon Kunz, Bern, Ida.; Seth Kunz, Soda Springs, Ida.; Dr.Seymour Kunz, Salt Lake City: 52 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Logan Eighteenth ward LDS chapel, by Dan A. Swenson, bishop. Friends may call at the family home friday evening and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Bern, Ida. cemetery under the direction of W. Loyal Hall Mortuary, Logan."
