Sarah Lou Maggard passed away peacefully June 2, 2013 at home in Salt Lake City, Utah at age 86. She was born August 10, 1926 in Enterprise, Utah to Don & Pearl (Barlocker) Alger. She married Olen Veach (Swede) Maggard in 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She loved to bowl, golf and party when she was younger. She gardened and canned food. She was a fantastic hostess and always had people staying at her house. Everyone was welcome at Mom's home. She was the strongest person we have ever known and acted as everyone's bedrock.
She was preceded in death by her husband "Swede" Maggard, a son, Brent and step-daughter, Barbara Lovato. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Maggard; Dianna (James) Giambruno and step-daughter, Michele (Steven) Lindle. Also survived by one brother, Gerald (Julie) Alger; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Interment Holladay Memorial Park.
