LEOMINSTER -- Joanne Stevens Brotheim, 70, of Leominster died in the Life Care Center of Leominster on Sunday, January 19, 2014, with her loving family at her side following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on May 29, 1943, the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Blanch E. (MacDonald) Stevens of Eastport, ME. Joanne was a 1961 graduate of Shead Memorial High School and Business College in Boston, MA.
She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Jerry Brotheim of Leominster; step-sons, who loved her and whom she loved as her own, Craig (Cindy) Brotheim and Jay (Davine) Brotheim of Fort Meyers, FL; grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua (Kristi) Brotheim of Fort Meyers, FL; three brothers, Harry (Judie) Stevens and Kevin (Elaine) Stevens of Whiting, ME, Arthur (Denise) Stevens of Yarmouth, ME; two sisters, Nadine (Tom) Whalen of Fitchburg, and Sonja (Dan) Fongemie of North Fort Meyers, FL and Maine; special friends, Joanne Schreiner and Maggie Allen.
Joanne is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Riley, Aaron, and Adam; also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, David Stevens and Richard Stevens and his wife Kayona.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Life Care Center of Leominster for their compassionate and loving care of Joanne and their support for her family.
BROTHEIM -- A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at the Monoosnock Country Club in Leominster on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 1-6 PM. A graveside service will be held in Eastport, ME in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Joanne are encouraged to make a donation to a charity of one's choice. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
