PENNER - Mrs. Margaret Penner (nee Braun) of Calgary, passed away to be with her Lord, on Friday, July 4, 1997, at the Foothills Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 91. Margaret was born on March 10, 1906 in Schoenau, Ukraine. She and her family immigrated to Canada in 1948. A gracious host with a generous heart, she welcomed her family and friends with an ever open door. Her faith, courage and strength of character have left a lasting legacy. She will be dearly missed. She was the loving mother of her children, Louise (Jacob) Froese, John (Katie) Penner, Agatha (Leonard) Reimer and Margaret (Gerhard) Bartel, all of Calgary; a wonderful and caring grandmother to her twenty-seven grandchildren and her twenty-four great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her sister Helena Lepp of Calgary; and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1940, her daughter Agatha Reimer in 1996 and her grandson Gary Bartel in 1958. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel", (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), today, July 8, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Foothills Mennonite Church (2115 Urbanna Road N.W.), on Wednesday, July 9, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.
