Rose I. Zook, 83, of 315 N. Prince St., formerly of 126-1/2 E. Lemon St., died Sunday at her home. Her death was unexpected, but she was under a doctor's care. A lifelong resident of the Lancaster area, she worked at Consolidated Cigar Co. as a wrapper layer. She then worked at Lutheran Social Services and Conestoga View as a housekeeper until retiring. An avid shopper in downtown Lancaster, she also spent time taking her great-grandchildren to movies and babysitting for them. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Adam J. and Josephine Sternaman Funke. She is survived by a son, Eugene H., Lancaster; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Zook, Lancaster. (Lancaster New Era - Mar 29, 1993)
