John Logan "Gobie" Fowler, 83, of Sumiton, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ted Johnson and Rev. John Foles will officiate. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home is directing.
Visitation is Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Fowler was the retired owner of Gobies Inc. in Sumiton, a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Sumiton First Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church in Dora.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Navaree Fowler, and his sons, Gary and Larry Fowler and his daughter, Connie Barnett.
Survivors include his son Wayne Fowler and wife Gayla of Sumiton; daughter-in-law, Janice Folwler of Sumiton; grandchildren, Jason, Craig and Brent Fowler, Rodney and Chris Barnett, Lindsey Berger and Ryan Fowler; eight great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mildred "Sister" Phillips.
