John Wheeler and Alyce (Alice or Alys) Sayer (Sayre) were married about 1560 in Bedfordshire, England.

Their children

John Wheeler born about 1563 in Odell, Bedfordshire.

homas Wheeler baptized March 2, 1565 in Maulden, Bedfordshire.

Alice was the daughter of William Sayre and his wife Alice Squire. She was born in Odell, Bedfordshire, England in 1541. About 1558, she married John Wheeler of Cranfield, Bedfordshire, probably in Odell. John and Alice had two sons, Thomas and John. Alice died in April of 1567 and was buried in the churchyard of St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in Cranfield on April 15. John died within a day of Alice.

I question that Alice Sayre who allegedly married John Wheeler was the daughter of William and Alice (Squire) Sayre. Yes, they had a daughter Alice, but in her father's 1563 will and her mother's 1567 will she is referred to as Alice WEST, husband Robert WEST and children John and George WEST. Two different Alices.

Info provide by David Cooper.

Alice, the daughter of William and Alice was named as Alice West in her father's will dated 1563, in her mother's will dated 1567 and in her brother's will of 1581. She wasn't the Alice who was the wife of John Wheeler.

Info regarding death date is incorrect. It belongs to her mother-Alice Squire-Sayre. Please refer to "Sayre family: lineage of Thomas Sayre, found of Southampton" https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/14224/dvm_GenMono000466-00011-1/20?backurl=&ssrc=&backlabel=Return (page 5&6; digital image 21 & 22) to verify the daughter Alice's marital name. Alice is married to Robert West as clearly stated. Not Wheeler. This is the only verification we have available since records in England didn't begin until 1532 and quite a few were destroy during the bombing of WWII. No record can be found for Thomas Wheeler and an Alice (maiden name unknown) and that of supposed children. If you're relying on other family researchers to provide info one must validate their submissions. Without records (birth/death/marriage/baptisms/taxes/property ownership, etc) and no sources the info is only presumed. People are anxious to tie their kin together. I get it. But wherever this info came from, it's not reliable. Folks come to FAG thinking they're going to get reliable info. This is how mis-information gets circulated. Just trying to help you out and not seem like I'm criticizing your work. Sorry

Or if not two Alice's then maybe two husbands.
