Louise Powell Lewis, 71, died July 26 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. She was born in Telfair County and lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County. She was a 1946 graduate of Hazlehurst High School and was employed with Ero Industries for a number of years. She was a member of North Gate Baptist Church and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was the widow of Grady Lewis.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Lewis Carter of Hazlehurst, a son, Grady Lewis of Reidsville, a brother, Odis Powell of Opelika, AL, a grandson, Robert Lewis Carter of Hazlehurst and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miles Funeral Home with burial in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
