AE: 56y.

Jarvis Thomas Wright was born in Villenova, Chautauqua County, NY, one of five children whose names we know. He was the youngest of the five.

His brother, Jerome B., was a Civil War veteran and at this time, I do not find evidence of Jarvis Thomas having served in that war.

Often referred to as J.T., some records have him as Thomas.

He was a Hotel Keeper--the Proprietor of the Peninsula House in Bailey's Harbor near Higgin's Pier, according to an ad run in the September 22, 1870 Door County Advocate. The ad itself was dated January 1870 so it probably ran on and off again during that period. It appears, based on the ad copy, that their trade were visitors, merchants, and others who were in town on business, not long term family rentals, which was the focus of Jerome B. Wright's hotel.

On the death certificate, the cause of death is listed as "Softening of the brain, caused by Apoplexy."

His father was Charles Wright of New York who died in Door County and his grandfather was Edmund James Wright who married Zerviah Sophia Rider. Rider is a Mayflower descendent.
