John McMahon was the chief clerk in the accounting department of Gulf Oil Corporation for 50 years. He was first married to Lottie Calhoun Ives, 1886-1925. They had two children: Rena McMahon Nelson and Charlotte Ives McMahon Ethridge. After Lottie died, he married Mignonne Applewhite Pierce. John was a member of First Baptist Church, a past master of Temple Lodge number 4AF and AM and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was proud to be a Baptist, a mason and a Shriner.
