Charlotte Ives McMahon Ethridge

A service of worship to celebrate the life of Charlotte Ives McMahon Ethridge, 93, of Monroe, will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be in the Parlor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Ethridge was born on November 18, 1918, in Houston, TX. She passed away on May 01, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Ethridge was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Evans Ethridge; daughter, Charlotte Glover Ethridge; an infant daughter, Rena Mignonne Ethridge; and sister, Rena Nelson.

Survivors include her son, Dick Ethridge and daughter-in-law, Pat, and son, Bill Ethridge and daughter-in-law, Susan. Grandchildren: Richard Ethridge, Ainslee Peters and husband, Benjamin, Sarah Addie Bagwell and husband, Curry, Grant Ethridge and wife, Barrie, Stuart Ethridge and wife, Debra, and Stephen Ethridge and wife, Jamie. Great Grandchildren: Emma and Macy Ethridge, Alex and Evans Peters, Christian and Addie Bagwell, Will and Sam Ethridge, Virginia Grace and John Wallace Patterson and Lynnton Ethridge, and Emery Ethridge.

Mrs. Ethridge's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Ethridge was a long-time resident of Monroe. She was a true Southern homemaker who enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and being with her family. With a great talent for staying in touch through cards and calls, Mrs. Ethridge enjoyed many friends who loved to gather at her home for Thursday Bridge Club and other occasions. As her family grew and grandchildren and great grandchildren moved away, their Beloved Maw Maw's home was still their favorite gathering place on holidays and special occasions.

The family will ever be grateful for the love and care shown Mrs. Ethridge by special companion, Rosie Reynolds, and caregivers, Shannon Newton, Ella Jones, and Nita Morrison.
