Carl E. Jenkins, Sr. went home to be with the lord on Friday, May 23, 2014. He was born to the late Solomon and Rosa Davis Jenkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Ella (Louise) Manley He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 55 years, Louise Jenkins; two sons, Carl Jenkins, Jr. (Mallika), Ronald Jenkins (Kristal); one daughter, Adrienne Jenkins Hunt (Robert);one brother, Artis Jenkins (Glennie); two sisters, Myrtle Avery and Mary Robinson; two grandsons, Robert Hunt IV and Marcus Hunt (Heather); two great granddaughters, Ayanna and Amaya Hunt; three brother-in-laws, Otis Squires (Ruth), James Squires (Helen), Fred Squires; two sister-in-laws, Annie Midgette and Geraldine Squires; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1563 Old Buckroe Road, Hampton. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m. Services of comfort entrusted to Smith Brothers Funeral Home, 545 E. Mercury Blvd., Hampton.
