Evelyn I. Barnett, 82, of Blue Springs, MO(formerly of Kirksville, MO), passed away Tuesday May 27, 2014 in Blue Springs, MO.

Evelyn was born October 18, 1931, in Edina, MO, to Harley and Gertrude(McGraw)Parrish, She was united in marriage to Donald B. Barnett on May 20, 1948. They celebrated fifty years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Evelyn was homemaker and a Baptist by faith. In Kirksville she was a member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church. She previously worked at NMSU(Truman State University)and Hollister Company in Kirksville. Evelyn moved from Kirksville where she had lived since 1960, to Blue Springs in 2010 residing at Waterford Ladies Home Assisted Living Facility. She loved spending time with her family, the color pink, and playing Bingo. In addition to her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Junior Parrish; and sisters, infant Catherine Marie, Ada Bell Hall, and Dorothy Hart.

Evelyn is survived by her four daughters, Linda Smith and husband David of Loganville, GA; Kathy Griffen and husband Walter of Unionville, MO; Karen Myers and husband Terry of Everett, WA; and Pamela Moore and husband Roger of Blue Springs, MO; two sons, Donald Glenn Barnett, Jr. and wife Chong of Waterford, MI; and Gerald Barnett and wife Sheila of Mexico, MO; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Alvie Parrish of Novelty, MO; sisters, Bonnie Inman of Monmouth, IL and Helen Hayes of Edina, MO and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday May 30, 2014 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Jackson and Reverend Walter Griffen officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to time of the service at 2 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation and may be sent to the funeral home.
