My boyfriend in high school, he died of aplastic anemia at age 15. He had such beautiful long brown straight hair and was so very sweet.
When his mother realized he was going to die, she bought him this really cool red convertible, and we bounced around town in that car for a few months, but he was gone so very fast.
The first time love and death touched my life. I remember we got the call that he'd died, and it was my mom's birthday, and I remember sliding down the wall in shock as my knees gave out.... 40 years, and still I feel the sting of his death, I can remember that day as clear as anything.
