MOCKSVILLE – Mrs. Catherine Brown Angell, 87, of Country Lane, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born May 4, 1927, in Watauga County, to the late John Crisp and Ola Taylor Brown.

Mrs. Angell was retired from Belk Department Stores and was a charter member of Blaise Baptist Church. She and her husband were avid fishermen and they enjoyed traveling in their RV and fishing at the Outer Banks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cashwell Jones Angell, Jr.; and two sisters, Martha Alice Brown and Louise Brown Nichols.

Survivors include a son, George G. Angell (Daune) of Indian Valley, Va.; two daughters, Pat A. Hege of Salisbury and Jerrie A. Cozart (Lester) of Mocksville; seven grandchildren; 10 great­-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at Blaise Baptist Church with the Dr. Jerry Cloninger and the Rev. Bill Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Joppa Cemetery.
